Career Support - The Berlin Life

Career Support

Job hunting in Germany is hard, and doing it as an international is harder. The applications work differently, the interviews work differently, and most of the advice out there wasn’t written with you in mind.

I can help. I’ve spent over a decade as a career coach and hiring manager in Berlin, reviewing hundreds of real applications from the side of the table most job seekers never get to see. I know what German employers actually look for, because I’ve been the one doing the looking.

There are two ways to work with me, depending on what you need and your budget.

Career Coaching

A live, one-on-one session where we work together in real time, on your CV and/or your cover letter, with plenty of room for your questions. This is the right fit if you want honest feedback you can respond to and dig into on the spot. And for interviews, there’s a full package that includes written practice rounds and a mock interview.

Sessions are 50 minutes, held online, from €80.

Job Application Reviews

A focused, affordable review of your CV or cover letter. You send me your documents, and I send back detailed, honest feedback plus a workbook of fixes, no call required. This is the right fit if you want expert eyes on your application, in writing, on your own schedule.

Reviews from €60, delivered one week.

Not sure which is right for you?

A rough guide: if your CV or cover letter needs work, start with a review. It’s the most affordable way to get honest, detailed feedback on what’s holding your applications back. If you have an interview coming up, or you’d rather talk through your documents and ask questions in real time, book a coaching session instead.

And the two work well together. Plenty of people start with a review to fix their documents, then book a session to prep for the interviews that follow. Whichever you choose, you’ll get the same thing: honest, specific feedback from someone who knows the German job market from both sides of the table.

What Clients Say

Thanks for all your help in building my CV and cover letter and for the interview practice. It’s a vital service you offer in my opinion. I’ve been on the hunt for a job in Germany and I really hadn’t a clue what I was doing until I got in contact with The Berlin Life and I can’t overstate how helpful it has been for me. I feel a lot more clear and confident in my search. Thanks again!

Luke, Germany

I did a CV consult with Cheryl at The Berlin Life and will highly recommend. She gave me so many tips regarding the German market that I was not able to find just through Google searching and trying to do it myself.

On top of that, she is kind, personable, and easy to work with. I also appreciate the confidence she has given me as I go forth in this particular job market. 100% recommend.

Megan, Berlin

I 100% recommend working with Cheryl. She is professional, understanding and a pleasure to work with. Job hunting can be disheartening and Cheryl’s coaching sessions made me feel more confident! I also strongly recommend subscribing to the newsletter!
