FAQ

Commonly asked questions about working in Germany.

Can you find me a job in Germany?

No, and also yes. We’re not a recruiting firm, so finding a job is ultimately your responsibility. As a community-minded hub of information and services, we offer plenty of resources to help you find a job in Germany, like this free resource of career guides or our career coaching services

Can you guarantee me a job in Germany if I read your guides?

As we discuss in our article about the reality of finding work in Berlin, the job-seeking experience is different for everyone, so saying we can guarantee you a job would be disingenuous. We certainly try our best to help based on our knowledge and expertise. Anecdotally, several of our clients have reported higher success rates after using our services.

If I send you my CV or cover letter, will you review it?

Sorry, but we don’t work for free. Don’t send us your job applications unless you’ve booked one of our services.

Can we get in touch for one on one advice?

No. We receive messages every single day across multiple platforms requesting help. The Berlin Life is run by one person, who also has a day job. We’re not in a position to offer individual consultations. That’s why we offer these guides and if you really want help creating a good CV or cover letter, we also offer paid services.

Do you offer services in German or just English?

At the moment, we only offer services in English.

Can you help with visa/work permit questions?

No. We do have a great list of relocation companies and immigration lawyers who can help though.

How often do you update your guides?

We update some quite frequently and others much less. As mentioned, this site is run by one person who has a full-time job. If you notice something wrong with one of our guides, get in touch.
