COMPANIES IN HAMBURG HIRING RIGHT NOW

Despite the hardships brought on by the pandemic and war in Ukraine, coupled with stagnated, slow economic growth, Germany’s labor market remains strong in 2024.

Unemployment remains consistently low; as of Feb 2024, more than 700,000 jobs were available in Germany. With an aging population and declining birth rates, the country desperately needs workers, especially those from abroad. For anyone seeking to relocate to Germany for work, now is the time.

WHICH COMPANIES ARE HIRING PEOPLE IN HAMBURG?

Check out these companies in Hamburg hiring right now and start your career in Germany:

Some disclaimers before we get started:

Some of the companies are only hiring German speakers, and some are hiring English speakers too. German fluency becomes an essential skill when you live in cities other than Berlin. Review job descriptions to find out the employer’s specific language requirements.

There are some companies that cover relocation costs or help with visas. If known, we’ll also include this information. Keep in mind that because of the current economic climate, some companies are not coverings relocation and visa costs for new employees.

I’m not a recruiter, nor am I affiliated with any of these companies. Apply directly through the company’s websites if you’re interested in one of their job openings.

I’m not personally endorsing any of the companies featured here. While I’ll avoid featuring companies with notoriously bad workplaces, it’s ultimately on you to do in-depth company research and decide if you want to apply there.

Cheryl Howard, Founder @ The Berlin Life

Hi, I’m Cheryl. My mission is to help you move to Berlin and find work.

A Canadian in Berlin for 10+ years, I have the unique experience of moving to Berlin – not once, but twice. During my time in Berlin, I’ve had five different visas and worked as both a freelancer and a permanent employee for numerous Berlin companies. I even managed to find a new job during the pandemic and again in 2023, during Germany’s recession and massive layoffs in tech.

My day job has involved work as a hiring manager, overseeing the recruitment of countless people, as well as a team coach helping teams and individuals work better and find happiness in their careers. Through my side projects, I’ve also shared my personal experiences by publishing a series of helpful blog posts, creating a thriving community of job seekers, and hosting events to help people find work in Berlin. In 2021, I decided to put my coaching and recruiting talents to use by creating The Berlin Life, bringing my existing content and community together in one spot.

The combination of my personal and professional experience means I know exactly what it takes to move to Berlin and find work.
