GERMAN CLIMATE TECH STARTUPS HIRING NOW

German Climate Tech Startups: If you know us at The Berlin Life, you know how we hype up startups as one of the top places for job seekers in Germany to find work.

As such, one of our most popular career guides is a list of funded startups in Germany in 2025.

If you’re on the hunt for a job, be sure to bookmark this super helpful resource. It features company names, descriptions, locations, and funding amounts. You can even sort the individual tables by location to find job leads within specific German cities. Best of all, we update it DAILY. The data is stored on a single page, not multiple pages, and covers all startups funded across Deutschland. It’s not hidden behind an expensive pay wall. More importantly, it contains practical advice for job seekers, reporting on trends like which industries are hot, which roles are in demand, and more.

As of July 2025, we’ve already counted 250+ funded companies. Now that we’ve established that master list, we’re using the data to create even more resources to help you out, like this one, a guide about hot (pun intended!) German climate tech startups.

WORK AT THESE GERMAN CLIMATE TECH STARTUPS

Climate change is real, no matter how much folks like Donald Trump wax poetic about “clean coal” or create a Big Beautiful Bill that eliminates climate incentives for American companies and individuals. As I write this today, it’s going to hit 40 C in Berlin. Without AC, the hours ahead are going to be sweat-filled. 😰

Lucky for us, Trump is not our nation’s leader, and the newly formed government sees the importance of protecting our planet. Part of their new spending deal, sees €100 M dedicated to climate projects.

It’s also natural for us lovely humans to be motivated to work for such purpose-driven companies. Entities working on ground-breaking, world-changing shit. Places that give you hope. Somewhere you can go home at the end of the day feeling that you contributed to something bigger.

While many companies are in the climate tech space for the abundance of cash (let’s not pretend that capitalism doesn’t drive them), we can also associate at least some level of altruistic goodness with their endeavours.

My cynical rant over, check out these 75 German climate tech startups for your next job in Germany.

Hi, I’m Cheryl. My mission is to help you move to Berlin and find work.

A Canadian in Berlin for 10+ years, I have the unique experience of moving to Berlin – not once, but twice. During my time in Berlin, I’ve had five different visas and worked as both a freelancer and a permanent employee for numerous Berlin companies. I even managed to find a new job during the pandemic and again in 2023, during Germany’s recession and massive layoffs in tech.

My day job has involved work as a hiring manager, overseeing the recruitment of countless people, as well as a team coach helping teams and individuals work better and find happiness in their careers. Through my side projects, I’ve also shared my personal experiences by publishing a series of helpful blog posts, creating a thriving community of job seekers, and hosting events to help people find work in Berlin. In 2021, I decided to put my coaching and recruiting talents to use by creating The Berlin Life, bringing my existing content and community together in one spot.

The combination of my personal and professional experience means I know exactly what it takes to move to Berlin and find work.
